We are seeking a Fitter (General) with a Certificate III Qualification to join our team in our Wagga Wagga Factory. Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will be required to work in a fast-paced factory environment whilst meeting strict deadlines.You will be responsible for:
- fitting and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
- Final assembly and fit out of new heavy transport trailers.
- Abide by safety Policies and Procedures including hazard reporting, risk assessments, participation in toolbox meetings, OH&S committee meetings and general housekeeping of work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Engineering (Fitter General) or equivalent.
- Experience with hydraulics, air and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated practical experience in the use of hand and power tools.
- At least 2 years experience in an automotive or related field.
- Knowledge of standard practices, tools and materials.
- Demonstrated commitment to OH&S, Risk Management and awareness of occupational hazards and appropriate precautionary measures.
- Committed to quality control and an eye for detail.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and commitment to team work as well as the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight production deadlines.
- 4 day work week and the ability to work overtime.
- Above Award wages and conditions. ($58,000 - $70,000+ per year depending on skills and experience)
