Last financial year Member purchases exceeded $2.93 billion and Member returns exceeded $72.5 million.Role PurposeReporting directly to the Regional Manager the Sales Manager (SM) is accountable for the management of a field sales team within a specified Zone driving sales and member and supplier relationship activities to ensure the achievement of budgeted sales and expense targets and to other business unit and organisational objectives.Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
  • Good understanding of business and corporate legislation particularly as it relates to the Trade Practices/competition and consumer law (desirable).
  • Intermediate skill in the use of MS Office Software Suite.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Ability to meet demands, deadlines, and timeframes as they arise.
  • Sound analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • High level of interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Business awareness, commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strength in sales and marketing activities.
  • Effective management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, lead and control whist providing direction, guidance and an ability to influence the organisation at a management level.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and has the ability to converse at all levels within and outside the organisation.
  • Proactively shares information and promotes effective teamwork principles.
  • Ability to achieve results.
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years selling credit products in the finance industry in a similar role or at the equivalent level, with previous roles in vehicle, equipment, broking or banking related finance being highly regarded.
  • Experience with tools and methodologies for requirements gathering and modelling.
  • Experience in working in or with Co-operatives or other Member focused organisations is desirable.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a Sales or Marketing management role.
  • Successful experience working in a similar role for a Cooperative or other member based organisation (desirable).
  • Experience in automotive industry along with sound understanding of the automotive parts industry or related/equivalent industries (desirable)
Qualifications
  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce or Business Management or in a related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Current valid driver's licence issued by the relevant State / Zone regulatory authority (essential)
