We are entirely Australian owned employing over 15,000 people and caring for over 71,000 children.We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our friendly IT team. The Business Intelligence Developer is highly skilled in SQL and has broad experience across the BI landscape. Joining the team in driving the future of our data management and analytics, utilising a blend of Microsoft SQL Server, SAP BI, Azure Fabric, and Power BI technologies.Your expertise will support the transformation of complex data sets into streamlined, efficient models ready for integration into Microsoft Fabric, marking a significant leap towards modernising our data landscape. This role demands a proactive approach to fostering relationships with internal stakeholders and your strengths in communication and stakeholder management, will help ensure that our Business Intelligence solutions not only meet but exceed business requirements.Key responsibilities:
  • Establishing Vision and Strategy for Business Intelligence (BI): Collaborate closely with the Head of Data Architecture & Engineering and stakeholders to define a clear vision and strategy for BI that aligns with the business's strategic direction and objectives
  • Implementing Data Management Policies and Standards: Ensure the establishment and enforcement of robust information management policies to maintain consistent data definitions and standards. This includes maintaining accurate business process and information models, as well as enforcing appropriate data architectures to support BI initiatives effectively
  • Ensure operational effectivity and successful processing of data transformations, ensuring the integrity of the Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse, along with the continuous availability of the Business Intelligence suite
  • Support the evolution of the existing data architecture into the modernized future state, utilising Microsoft Fabric and PowerBI, including an initial remodelling into SQL of existing artifacts, before rolling out of new BI application solutions in line with strategic future direction
You'll bring to the table:
  • A minimum of 5 years, experience in a BI development/consulting role or demonstratable exceptional skills complementary to this role
  • Exceptional SQL skills, with hands on experience developing complex modelling solutions (with preference to SQL Server).
  • Demonstratable experience developing BI semantic models and visualisations (with preference to Microsoft PowerBI and SSRS)
  • Proven experience developing ETL procedures (with preference to Azure Data Factory), including the ingestion and modelling of bigdata datasets, using API/Python processes.
  • Background in data warehouse analysis and design including methodologies, modelling, relational database structures and database design applications.
  • Strong desire to expand knowledge into modern data landscapes, you must be self-motivated, driven, with exceptional timekeeping skills, as this is predominantly a self-managed, WFH role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate technology issues and solutions in a manner non-technical people can understand, as well as building effective business relationships.
  • Experience in RAD and Agile methodologies.
Desirable:
  • Degree qualification in Information Technology or Business Studies.
  • Microsoft Fabric experience
  • SAP HANA experience
  • SAP BI Suite (Business Objects/Web Intelligence)
  • SAP Data Services
