If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!We currently have an ongoing vacancy for a Principal Advisor, Biodiversity Science and Knowledge within our Science and Information branch within the Strategy, Science and Corporate Services division. The Principal Advisor, Biodiversity Science and Knowledge, provides scientific leadership to the South Australian Government in relation to biodiversity and nature conservation science and information. The role is a recognised expert who provides strategic scientific advice, and enables the application of evidence in policy, strategy and programs. The role also provides leadership in partnerships with the research sector, to enable the mobilisation of external expertise and research outcomes to support Government priorities in relation to biodiversity and nature conservation.Key role outcomes:
- Priority biodiversity research needs are identified and effective, outcome-focussed partnerships between researchers, DEW business units and relevant external stakeholders are developed and maintained.
- Emerging themes and issues relating to biodiversity and nature conservation are identified and considered within a South Australian context.
- Timely and specialist advice, expert analysis and briefings are provided to the Minister, Chief Executive, Executive and senior management, on critical and complex matters related to biodiversity science and nature conservation.
- Staff are empowered to enable the development and use of evidence in government decisions, through supportive team leadership.
- Leadership, technical direction, mentoring and oversight are provided for ecology-related assessments, investigations and project development
