Your role will include:Delivering technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver an exciting portfolio of materials handling and complex machines projects.Performing a lead engineer or design management role on projects.Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of more junior resources.Driving business development, winning work, identifying the next opportunities and supporting the winning of these opportunities. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.As well as experience in a similar Lead Mechanical Engineer role. Specifically:Bachelor’s degree or master’s in mechanical engineering.Registered Professional Engineer or equivalent with recognised professional body. Chartered status preferable.Solid technical background and practical application experience with a preference in bulk materials handling, machine design and resource sector related fields. Experience within the WA resources sector preferable. Sound knowledge and experience implementing relevant technical standards. Proficient with relevant mechanical design software.Experience working on projects from early feasibility and concept design phases through detailed design and construction and commissioning support.Sound business and commercial acumen. Understands goals and metrics that drive business, financial and project performance and manages scope and time of self and others to optimise team performance and efficiency.Willingness to apply technical skills to all facets of engineering consultancy which may include design, leadership, management, client relationship management and work winning.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey mechanical engineering outcomes with suitable language that can be understood by clients, stakeholders and other engineering disciplines.The ability to work alongside existing leaders and in multidisciplinary teams and to effectively collaborate with and drive the performance of those around you. A sound knowledge across a range of disciplines.A desire to continually grow your own career and technical development by staying abreast of industry best practice design methods, software, technologies and by adopting digital delivery, and innovation.
