Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.Be part of a team that thrives on rising to the challenge of transforming lives for good.About the project:Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.As construction of GCLR3 gets under way we have a position available for a talented and driven Site Engineer to join the Groundworks Utilities team. Join us here at John Holland and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.Responsibilities of the role include:

Work closely with the Projects Engineering and Supervisory team to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements from a cost and time perspective
Significant input in managing project Quality Systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping
Planning & Programming
Assist with procurement & supplier management
Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on risk management.

Skills & experience required:

This role is open for Working Holiday Visa's to apply
Degree qualified Civil Engineer with at least 12 months post qualification experience
Understanding contemporary practices in construction methodology on civil infrastructure projects
Experience in Utilities highly desirable as well as Roads and Structures.
Previous exposure to rail/light rail construction desired, but not essential
Confident communicator
Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
Excellent time management and prioritisation
Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures
