- Oversee day-to-day client projects and/or events to ensure the quality of work meets clients' objectives and in a manner that provides value for money.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with the client and external publics.
- Develop, pitch and place stories by and about the client in business, trade and other media.
- Develop pitches and work with targeted media on story development, and handle media inquiries.
- Organise, implement and oversee media events, press conferences/briefings, media tours and promotions for the client.
- Develop communication and marketing plans for clients.
- Research, write and distribute news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, pitch letters, prepared remarks, program elements and stand-by statements.
- Cultivate positive client presence in media through releases, contact and responsiveness to inquiries/requests.
- Manage account administration duties such as billing, financial reporting and activity reports.
- Assist with new business development including writing new business pitches and participating in pitches.
- An experienced Senior Account Executive or Account Manager with experience working in an integrated, PR or media agency environment.
- Ability to handle complex negotiations and complex client engagements,
- Ability to manage tasks in an issues and crisis situation and manage media relations activity
- Ability to develop communication plans, manage communication measurement and evaluation tasks
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen
- Strong strategic thinker who is solution orientated
- Ability to manage up and down
- Proactively lead work through the agency
- Ability to immerse in clients business to identify opportunities and build relationships
