The roles are FIFO from Perth and based at Barimunya & Coondewanna on an 8:6 and 4:3 roster.Roles/responsibilities:
  • Overseeing aerodrome conditions and associated maintenance of accurate and compliant records
  • Conduct daily and non-routine aerodrome serviceability inspections and ARO duties as per CASA regulations
  • Supervising aerodrome remedial works (Works Safety Officer Duties)
  • Transmission of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to Air services
  • Management of flight line operations including aircraft marshalling, refuelling, fuel qualify control, baggage handling, passenger control and aerodrome traffic scheduling
  • Delivery of airport Terminal Operations - passenger check-in (Sabre, Amadeus, IFIDS, Avantik, FMMA, Icargo), radio calls and completion of flight manifests, load sheets, operational liaison with aircraft crew and staff from both mine and aircraft operations.
  • Understanding and management of the BHP Material Risk for Aviation by active Field Leadership through CCOs, PTCs & TTTs
  • Aerodrome Maintenance - Line Marking, Slashing/Mowing/Brush Cutting/Pruning, RWY & Apron Sweeping, Weed Management, minor fence repairs, etc.
  • Daily & Weekly GSE Checks/Minor Maintenance
  • Daily & Weekly Housekeeping duties (Terminal, Offices, storerooms, containers, inventory checks, Carpark, etc.
  • Conduct Airport Inductions for contractors, new staff and visitors.
  • Airport Emergency Response - participate in aerodrome emergency response training with a focus on aviation emergency response.
  • Airport Security - awareness of dangerous goods screening and airport security requirements
  • Managing dangerous goods movements
About YouTo be successful for this role we require:
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Aerodrome Reporting Officer / Works Safety Officer (ARO/WSO) Qualification
  • Airline Ground Handling Experience (Virgin/ VARA & Alliance Airlines - Demonstrated experience and qualifications with 737/ A320 & F100 aircraft types)
  • Airline Trainer Credentials (desirable but not essential)
  • Air Freight Processing - Demonstrated experience with iCargo
  • Passenger Processing - Demonstrated experience with Sabre, Amadeus, Avantik, FMMA.
  • VAA/ VARA IFIDS dispatching software
  • Demonstrated experience with Air BP Quality Control and Aircraft refueling capabilities
  • Aerodrome Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate
  • Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC)
  • Aircraft Refueling experience
  • Manual driver's license
