SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.The Community Mental Health (CMH) Clinician will provide comprehensive strengths based and recovery focused assessments with consumers and the formulation of time limited packages of care signed off by consumers and their care givers. These packages will detail the clinical mental health services and other wraparound supports to be provided.They will provide high quality evidence based clinical services including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder.
These interventions will be based on an appropriate model of practice as specified by the individual’s professional background, skills, and experience and will be informed by evidence based treatment guidelines.If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria. Recent graduates who are awaiting their course completion will also be considered.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community.   • Demonstrated experience in the mental health assessment, treatment and management of persons with a mental illness in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a consumer focussed recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management .
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Current NSW Driver’s License
