Commission within the Database and Communications team who enable the delivery of the
Commissions objectives and outcomes by undertaking the design, implementation and
operational support of database services infrastructure.As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for delivering solutions and support for
our evolving database environment consisting of SQL Server systems hosted on prem and in
the Azure Cloud as well as some legacy Linux hosted data platforms.1. About our requirements
The request seeks to engage experienced candidates who have capability to:
Overseeing compliance and health of the database fleet, driving database automation initiatives for repeatable requirements, and developing service capabilities in the Azure cloud.
Recent experience in operating and supporting SQL Server clustered implementations as well as Azure SQL Managed Instance systems.
Skilled Senior SQL Server DBA with a passion for data, automation and designing robust, reliable systems.
Required to be available for after-hours escalation support through a roster-based system.Additional responsibilities during an Electoral Event
During an Electoral Event, additional hours and On-call restrictions are required to meet key immutable deadlines during the writ to writ timetable2. About the Project

Production operational support of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 through to 2019 and Azure SQLMI platformsT-SQL skills including performance analysis of T-SQL queries, assisting developer teams with T-SQL query techniques, database design and modellingProven and demonstrable skills in SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL XML, SQL JSON and PowerShellDeveloping/supporting automation of SQL Server processes using PowerShell and T-SQLDeveloping support tools in support of business imperativesdevelopment and management of system monitoring reports/dashboards and alerting systemexperience in building data pipelines and integration systems in support of operational and data warehousing needsDelivery of SQL Server database systems built to AEC standards and the continual assurance that the existing fleet meets AEC and ACSC compliance standardsAbility to work with Cyber and security compliance teams to address emerging vulnerabilities and investigate security incidentsProven understanding of the SQL Server Database architecture, internals, clustering and performance tuningKnowledge SQL Server high availability options both on Prem and in the Azure cloudTroubleshooting production incidents using T-SQL querying, SQL Query store, SSIS, SSRS and SQL Server logs as required with clear communication to customers on the issue, root cause and its impact.
