We are looking for a flexible, proactive, and responsive Media Services Coordinator to support our Media Services team.The Media Services team is part of the Digital Futures area which supports the Academic Division. Its goal is to enhance the digital capabilities of our staff to allow them to develop contemporary and compelling curriculum and produce learning experiences that use innovative technologies.As the new Media Services Coordinator, you will provide operational oversight to a small team working with our academic staff to provide expert media services. You will provide support in fields like photographic, videography, animation, and design services. You will work closely with teams across the organisation to support university brand guidelines and support a variety of projects involving all types of media.As our new Media Services Coordinator, you will be passionate about all thing's media, bringing with you a wealth of knowledge from your established portfolio. You will also have experience in leading a team, ideally within media production or an academic setting. You will have exceptional organisation skills to allow you to coordinate activities such as project scoping, budget planning, project timelines, and outcomes.What you'll do:
  • Project coordination of media related activities including stakeholder engagement, project scoping, prioritisation, budget planning, timelines for project completion and project outcomes.
  • Manage and maintain equipment and software needs for the team, as well as the management of stock images, quoting and invoicing for external client work.
  • Lead, support, and contribute to the Media Services team and the development of media assets to enhance learning materials and the overall student experience.
  • Complete quality assurance checks and training to support the team in delivering high quality services to the Colleges.
  • Provide training and mentoring to academic and professional staff to improve their media production capabilities.
  • Oversee and provide advice on the implementation and evaluation of emerging technologies including generative AI tools to improve team efficiency and productivity.
What we're looking for:
  • Tertiary qualifications in media production, digital media, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team, ideally within a media production or academic setting including scheduling, project management, and performance management to ensure team cohesion and productivity.
  • A strong portfolio in media production, including video and audio, experience with editing software (such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro) and an ability to contribute directly to media projects with a high level of competence.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, deal with multiple and urgent priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning within the media services context, aligning team efforts with the University's mission.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment that values and leverages the strengths brought by diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
Salary detailsAppointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $123,548 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $105,597 plus 17% superannuation.How to Apply
