Grade 3, Senior Social WorkerPermanent Full Time or Part-Time (no less than 30 hours/week) opportunity at Peninsula Private Hospital.About the RoleAs a Senior Social Worker (Grade 3) at Peninsula Private Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in providing exemplary social work services to our diverse patient population, including inpatients and day patients. This senior position emphasizes not only on direct patient care but also on leadership within the Social Work department and across Allied Health services. You will be instrumental in driving a culture of excellence in patient care, spearheading quality improvement projects, and fostering staff development.Your Success in this Role Will Be Demonstrated by Your Ability to:
  • Collaborate closely with the Manager of Occupational Therapy & Social Work and the wider Allied Health management team to ensure a unified approach to patient care and staff development.
  • Lead and oversee a culture that prioritizes excellence in patient care and teamwork across Social Work and Allied Health departments.
  • Engage effectively with key stakeholders both within and outside the organization to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
About YouThe successful applicant will have a robust background in hospital-based social work, particularly in an acute setting, showcasing well-developed assessment, clinical, and discharge planning skills. This individual will demonstrate an autonomous work style, complemented by excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead the social work service, underscoring a steadfast commitment to ongoing professional development.You will also demonstrate:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current or eligible AASW membership.
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred, ideally a master's degree or close to completion.
  • Exceptional communication skills for leading teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven supervisory skills with a focus on staff development.
  • Understanding of organizational and private health policy in acute hospital settings.

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
