Job DescriptionNew Casual positionsBe part of a dynamic and expanding Outdoor Education programThe roleThis new role of Experiential Learning/Outdoor Education Group Leader is responsible to lead and mentor students on new or established Experiential Learning programs. The incumbent will also provide medical support with first aid and medication administration and assist School staff to deliver the learning outcomes via a range of different environments, countries and adventure activities that can range from 3 - 12 days in length.Key to this role is your ability to develop and foster positive relationships with students and staff through the learning programs whilst also being flexible and responsive to support the delivery of an experiential education program that is aligned with the School's holistic education vision.For more information, please refer to detailed position description.To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experiences:
  • Held a similar position with 2 years logged experience and or exposure to education / exodus programs in a K-12 setting
  • Passionate and strong advocate for experiential learning outside of the classroom
  • Ability to support staff in the pre and post planning of experiential learning experiences as required
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risk in outdoor, urban and group settings
  • Demonstrated experience in leader 5+ day expeditions
  • Possess an awareness of current wellbeing, experiential and risk management philosophies and practices
  • Highly developed written and communication skills including computer literacy and competency
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and deliver excellent service with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Display a high level of emotional intelligence

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement
  • Must have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement
