People from all walks of life find themselves calling Tennant Creek home.About the RoleAnyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a full time Grow Well Liaison Officer to join their Kalpa Purru Wirranjarlki – Public Health Services Section, here in Tennant Creek. This role is offered on a Full-Time basis.Primary Objective:The Grow Well Liaison Officer is responsible for supporting the Grow Well Program Coordinator to run the Grow Well program at Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation. The primary focus of the position is to support individuals and communities caring for children aged 0-5 years old and to share and supports knowledge, skills, and resources in addressing needs specific to each community.More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):General:
  • Under the guidance of the Grow Well Program Coordinator, assist in the delivery of the Grow Well Program.
  • Support the Grow Well Program Coordinator in maintaining friendly and professional relationships with everyone associated with the program.
  • Support the Grow Well Program Coordinator in all duties relating to the program whilst participating in day-to-day administration matters.
  • Participate in report writing where necessary.
  • Assist the Grow Well Program Coordinator in preparing and delivering health programs in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Assist the Grow Well Program Coordinator in developing, delivering and supporting health related community events.
  • Participate in on-going training and professional development opportunities.
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
About youTo be successful in this role, you must maintain knowledge of primary health issues including hygiene and nutrition. Confidentiality at all times, understand the needs of small children aged 0 – 5 years old, understand the needs of people that care for small children.Please note: A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.You will also need to possess the following:Essential skills and experience:
  • All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Triple COVID-19 Vaccinated
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Support your work colleagues by being friendly and supportive.
  • Treat our clients with respect at all times.
  • Ask your supervisor for help if needed.
  • Be actively involved in the day to day running of the program.
  • Represent Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation to the best of your ability.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to communities in the South Barkly Region.
  • Stay overnight if the program requires.
  • Order and shop for items for some projects if required.
  • Pack and unpack the 4WD vehicle.
  • Perform a safety check on the 4WD vehicle before each trip.
  • Refuel the 4WD vehicle.
  • Share the driving to and from communities.
Desirable:
  • Understanding the needs of small children ages 0 to 5 years old
  • Understanding the needs of people (male & female, old & young) that care for small children.
  • Knowledge of primary health issues including hygiene and nutrition.
  • Skills in cooking.
  • Skills in crafts.
