Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, Dharug land, North RydeTHE ROLEThis position is an essential role in managing and developing the University's student equity and diversity strategies, programs, committees, and events.In this role, you will:Manage a team of direct reports and cultivate an environment that promotes respect, accountability, quality service and fosters initiative, innovation, professional development and continuous improvement.Manage the efficient and effective delivery of student equity, diversity and inclusion strategies, programs and initiatives in a way that enhances student experience and belonging and supports key student equity priorities.Provide subject matter expertise across all aspects of student diversity and inclusion to enable the University to achieve its student equity goals.Develop initiatives, resources and programs to create awareness of student equity throughout the student community.Collaborate with the staff Equity and Diversity team, and Diversity and Inclusion Committees to disseminate information and align staff and student initiatives, programs and equity goals.Deliver and facilitate informative sessions to inform students and relevant staff about key equity issues and messaging.Monitor and report on progress and adjust as required to achieve the strategic objectives of student equity and diversity.Liaise with key external stakeholders including international and national universities and organisations and government.Manage the Student Diversity and Inclusion team.About UsThe Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVC-A) is the chief academic officer of the University and is the member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education provided to Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students.Within the DVC(A), the Dean of Students has overall responsibility for student support services and student experience including Student Engagement, Equity, Diversity and Belonging, Complaints and Misconduct and Student Wellbeing Services.The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team oversee important work in the space of student safety, sexual health as well as events on campus that promote diversity and inclusion.Macquarie is a university engaged with the real and often complex problems and opportunities that define our lives.
