Thiess has recently been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, load, and haul.About The RoleBy joining our team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a new workforce that is focused on developing a strong performance culture and a culture that values everyone's contribution equally. As a Ancillary Equipment Fitter, you will be required to:
  • Maintain Ancillary mobile plant equipment together with equipment used for supporting mining operations such as Service Trucks, Tilt Trays, EWPs, Forklifts, Generators, Compressors and Lighting Plants safely and efficiently in line with Thiess and industry standards.
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained.

Your attention to detail coupled with your commitment to delivering high-quality work will also ensure your success in this role. The ideal candidate will hold:
  • Mechanical trade qualification (required)
  • Prior experience with diagnostics and fault-finding skills on mechanical and electrical systems
  • On highway truck experience (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience working on Ancillary equipment including EWPs, forklifts, generators, compressors, lighting plants & medium vehicles.
  • Current Standard 11
  • Driver's Licence preferable
