- Role model the process and stakeholder engagement by also performing and taking accountability for high complexity, high value and high risk categories.
- Ongoing leadership and development of the Category Strategy.
- Ensure Category Strategy initiatives and procurement led business improvement initiatives are executed
- Provide strategic direction and advice to the site based Technical/Commercial/Supply staff regarding capital and operating acquisitions.
- Provide strategic advice on budget cost estimates of plant equipment.
- Establish, implement and review service contract templates, procedures and procedures across the Yancoal Group.
- Lead commercial and contract negotiations for high dollar value, high risk and group strategic contracts as required.
- Establish service level of agreement with contractors/suppliers that meet Yancoal standards and requirements.
- Ensure an effective working relationship is maintained with key stakeholders and that goals and expectations are clearly communicated.
- Review and monitor contracts and service provided to ensure Yancoal's interests are protected.
- Tertiary degree in engineering, business or commerce.
- Contract management or procurement qualification desirable
- Proven team leadership experience and development of professional individuals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional maturity to build and maintain effective relationships
- Highly developed negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills with significant evidence of savings and value delivery
- Sound analytical skills for strategies and negotiation
- Demonstrated superior verbal and written communication to enable effective communication at all levels of the organisation
- Systematic approach to strategy development
- Understand internal Demand analysis and correlate to external Supply market opportunities
- High level planning and organisational skills
- Ability to influence and engage, through both written and verbal communication, with a wide diversity of audiences
- Knowledge of all relevant legislative requirements.
- At least 10 years managing major contracts and procurement leadership
- Experience in the mining industry
