- Help to design, implement and document software solutions and workflows that assist with the development and delivery of science outcomes on the SDC.
- Help manage cluster wide as well as team specific software stacks and environments.
- Design, develop and support DevOps practices, methodologies, tools, and technologies, to improve efficiency and working culture and deliver positive business outcomes. Apply expertise to analyse the requirements of a number of teams across a range of scientific disciplines and incorporate into technical solutions.
- Use customer-centred approaches to support SDC users in day-to-day operations and help with troubleshooting/debugging.
- Consult with, advise and educate users in the use of technology and processes to improve productivity and performance.
- Contribute to strategy development and future planning of high-performance computing within SEI through timely, succinct reports and briefings, and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Contribute to a respectful, supporting and friendly working culture, enabling continuous improvement on all technical and inter-personal levels.
- Extensive experience working in similar roles managing DevOps in Linux environment.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of working with Unix/Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, Suse) and Scripting (python, bash).
- Experience in designing, implement and maintaining DevOps tools and frameworks, including Kubernetes, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience working in Linux-based HPC environments, including supporting software stacks
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to effectively support/communicate with staff from diverse technical backgrounds.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills to design and implement innovative solutions for technical problems
- Ability and willingness to work across all aspects of pipeline development (design, development, implementation, deployment, and testing) with focus on delivering business outcomes and enabling continuous improvement.
