- Cost plan / estimate project quantities and costs in preparation of major tenders on a timely and cost-effective basis.
- Provide iterative feasibility cost plan pricing for commercial assessment project analysis.
- Establish trade cost code / work breakdown budgets.
- Peer review cost plans / estimates prior to submissions.
- Assist site managers in the development of major variation / EOT claims.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, briefs, scopes, and standards and assess their impact on project costs.
- Understand legislation that could have an impact on project costs including relevant building codes.
- Complete a project cashflow that provides a minimum cash neutral position.
- Ensure alignment and relationships are maintained with all Regional Senior Cost Planners / Estimators.
- Manage, prepare and present escalation schedules.
- Manage subcontractors/suppliers to ensure accurate pricing of quotations as part of the adjudication process.
- Manage, prepare and present risk and opportunity assessment and schedules.
- Manage, prepare and present cost plan / project costs to business leaders for review and approval.
- Mentor and develop skills of staff to ensure high standards of technical performance, including training.
- Maintain cost data bases for all targeted building sectors.
- Extract as-built costs from all projects.
- Lead and co-ordinate benchmarking efforts.
- Exhibit outstanding leadership in health, safety, environmental and risk management, compliance and auditing.
- Tertiary or Trade Qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying and/or Project/Construction Management
- Tier 1/2 Demonstrated construction experience
- Multi-disciplinary estimating experience
- Advanced financial management skills
- Advanced skills in estimating computer software packages
- Experience in Construct Only, Design & Construct, Managing Contract, Alliance, Joint Ventures & PPP Contracts types
- Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment
