The Earthmoving Plant Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of earthmoving equipment to support our civil construction projects. This role requires a skilled operator with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and attention to detail.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a range of earthmoving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and rollers, to perform various tasks such as excavation, grading, compaction, and material handling.
- Follow project plans, specifications, and instructions to complete earthmoving tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately.
- Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on earthmoving equipment to ensure it is in safe and operational condition.
- Safely load and unload materials, transport materials within the worksite, and assist with material stockpiling and handling as required.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify any issues or defects that may affect operation or safety.
- Operate equipment in compliance with relevant safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and tradespeople, to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is properly secured and stored when not in use.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to provide updates on work progress, equipment status, and any potential safety hazards.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions to enhance safety awareness and promote a positive safety culture.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as an Earthmoving Plant Operator in the civil construction industry.
- Valid drivers license and relevant machinery tickets or certifications (e.g., Excavator Operator, Loader Operator, etc.).
- Experience operating a range of earthmoving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and rollers.
- Strong understanding of earthmoving principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, with a clear understanding of safe work practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.A remuneration package between $70,000 to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation will be negotiated depending on skills and experience.
