You will have opportunities to work closely with clients across a wide range of state and federal government organisations and NGOs.The RoleThe successful candidate will be part of a supportive team of 50 in Public Affairs spanning across our offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, playing a key role in the end-to-end delivery of high-profile social research projects.You will be working closely with our clients, and in partnership with the research team and fieldwork team, to deliver great studies that have a tangible impact on our clients' work.Your Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with and manage stakeholders
  • Collaborate with researchers and senior team members from the planning stage through to the final project deliverables, ensuring projects run efficiently to specification, time and budget.
  • Be a trusted point of contact for clients, managing client expectations and ensuring we stay in scope.
  • Be the main point of contact with Operations (the fieldwork team), suppliers and stakeholders.
With support from a director, responsible for leading and delivering large scale, complex projects
  • Resource planning - creating project plans, liaising with external teams and suppliers, managing risks and contingencies
  • Manage the process for delivering fieldwork techniques/sampling approaches
  • Work effectively at identifying and pre-empting challenges
  • Use and direct others in the application of project management techniques and tools
  • Implement efficiencies and effective ways of working
  • Provide regular financial performance updates to ensure all projects are delivered within budget agreed
  • Contribute to technical and analytical reporting (survey metadata)
  • Prepare costings and provide input (based on previous project actuals and experience) on pricing decisions
  • Survey design: liaise with client on expectations and anticipated outcome; advise on appropriate method of data collection to meet research objectives
  • Questionnaire design - providing input to refine questions from an operational perspective
  • Responsible for quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, for e.g., responsible for delivering error free scripts/tables, ensure project related documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with Business Excellence standards
Other responsibilities
  • Contribute to drafting of social research proposals
  • Contribute to identifying new clients and opportunities
  • Constantly look for opportunities to improve processes, challenge status quo to create project efficiencies and cost effectiveness
  • Lead by example and be a positive role model to others
  • Ensure client satisfaction and represent Ipsos in a professional and ethical manner at all times
Skills & Experience :
  • Strong quantitative project management experience at a Project Manager or Senior Project Management level (essential)
  • Advanced ability to interpret and interrogate survey outcomes data and using that to understand job performance, identify issues and implement remedial actions. (essential)
  • Strong organisational skills - demonstrate flexibility, with proven ability to juggle multiple tasks to achieve team and business requirements (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (essential)
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines (essential)
  • Experience managing project budgets to meet required profit targets (essential)
  • Able to lead effective project teams, which may be a geographically dispersed (essential)
  • Experience on social research, large-scale, quantitative studies especially travel surveys is highly advantageous
  • Experience with applying different quantitative data collection techniques , and experience with face-to-face methodologies desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail, including data checks and proofreading
  • Strong client management experience
  • Experience coaching and developing junior colleagues
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn and a drive for continuous improvement
  • A can-do, solution-focused attitude
  • Proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications
  • A project management qualification is desirable but not essential
