Working to protect the state's environment and heritage.About the roleNational Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Perisher team and help deliver essential municipal services in one of Australia's most spectacular alpine environments. In this role, you will take on a diverse range of projects, from managing contracts and consultants through to compliance reporting, data collection and asset management. You'll play a key part in supporting services such as water, wastewater, solid waste, roads and stormwater, while assisting with capital works, environmental assessments, stream flow measurement and water quality monitoring. Your expertise will ensure infrastructure across the Perisher Range resorts meets the highest standards of safety, environmental practice and compliance.And the best part? Whether it's skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing or simply enjoying the vibrant community and breathtaking views, Jindabyne is more than a place to work - it's a place to thrive.About YouYou are a skilled and adaptable engineer with proven experience delivering municipal services across water, wastewater, solid waste, stormwater and roads. With a strong background in project and contract management, from tendering through to on-site delivery, you're confident making decisions in the field and keeping projects on track. You bring expertise in asset management systems, a practical, solutions-focused mindset and the resilience to work in challenging alpine conditions - it gets very chilly in Perisher! Most importantly, you can balance environmental protection with the needs of the businesses, resort operators and visitors in a high-profile resort environment.Essential requirements
  • Degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental or related discipline), with qualifications and experience that would enable admission to membership of the Institution of Engineers (Australia).
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of municipal services such as water supply, wastewater, solid waste, storm water and roads.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and contract management (preparation, tendering, evaluation and managing contractors).
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management, including the ability to utilise an Asset Management System.
  • Current Driver's Licence and capacity and willingness to attend after hours emergency situations as required.
