Illawarra Christian School is seeking a dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. While this position is currently offered as a 0.4 FTE maternity leave placement for 12 months, there is genuine potential for increased hours and ongoing employment for the right candidate.   • Teach Physics to students in Years 7-12, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to create engaging and differentiated learning experiences tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Support the academic and pastoral development of students, contributing to their holistic growth.
  • Actively participate in the broader Christian educational community, promoting a Christ-centered worldview.

Who We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • A qualified Science teacher with experience or a keen interest in Physics education.
  • Current NESA registration and accreditation.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a variety of effective pedagogical strategies.
  • A committed Christian actively involved in a local church, capable of integrating a biblical perspective into teaching.
  • A dedication to professional growth and a passion for independent Christian education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in school community activities through extracurricular programs.
  • A valid, paid Working with Children Check.
