Campbelltown Hospital is recruiting for a Quinquennial Visiting Medical Officer - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (1 January 2024 to 31 December 2028) to complement and enhance the current team.Life at South Western Sydney Local Health District is rewarding, progressive and diverse and is always focused on achieving our Vision of Leading Care, Healthier Communities.What You'll Be DoingProvide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.Where You'll Be Working

Whilst being the major hospital for the MacArthur area, the hospital has not lost its sense of community and regional support.Located close to the CBD and public transport, Campbelltown Hospital is largely becoming one of South West Sydney’s most important medical precincts with a range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine and aged-care services. The hospital features both Mental Health and Cancer facilities which offer patients exceptional care and continued support.The hospital is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade, boasting the state of the art equipment and amenities to help serve the community. Inside of this redevelopment comes a focus on training and upskilling throughout the hospital with an emphasis on encouraging staff to pursue learning and development opportunities.How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the RACP and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
  • Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
  • Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
