With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourne's North is fastNorthern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Paediatric Emergency Physician to join the Paediatric Emergency Department.About Northern Health:Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About the Role:This role requires: * Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Ideally candidates will also have completed Stage 2 PEM training / hold joint fellowship of RACP / ACEM
This role is responsible for the provision of high-level care to children presenting to the Northern Hospital Emergency Department.To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Experience and good working knowledge of Paediatric Emergency Medicine as demonstrated by Fellowship with ACEM or RACP, and ideally completion of Stage 2 PEM training.
  • Proven ability to promote and encourage a psychologically safe culture
  • Demonstrated growth mindset, with a pragmatic solution focused approach to clinical practice
  • Well-developed skills in collaboration, cooperation, conflict resolution and an ability to empathise with a diverse range of views, cultures and perspectives
