
Senior Geotechnical Engineer

- Working with a wide range of experienced geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, pavement engineers, geophysicists, hydrogeologists and geo-technicians at a national and international level.
- Contributing to the delivery of projects, including identification and management of risks, and ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard.
- Undertaking geotechnical analyses in areas such as deep excavations, slope stability, foundations, retaining walls, pavement designs etc.
- Undertaking interpretation and analysis of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions.
- Interacting with client through pursuit, tendering and delivery phases of projects, along with opportunities to address business development tasks in our relationship-oriented business.
- Providing technical mentoring for junior team members to build and develop their skills to ensure the continuing success of the team.
- Degree level qualifications in the field of geotechnical / geological / civil engineering. Post graduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology will be beneficial.
- A minimum of 8 years relevant engineering/industry experience in geotechnical consulting, including fieldwork data gathering and site investigation reporting.
- An aim to provide strong technical leadership, mentoring and advice to others. The ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and lead teams carrying out both field investigation and analytical design work.
- Ability to carry out geotechnical analysis of slopes, shallow foundations, piled foundations, deep excavations and retaining structures using industry standard software or methods (AS1726-2017) experience with, or willingness to learn numerical modelling software, particularly Plaxis (2D & 3D) and Abaqus)
- Focus on client service, good people relationships and networking skills.
- A strong personal dedication to Health and Safety in geotechnical projects and alignment to HSE procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management skills appropriate for large or sophisticated projects, excellent judgement and decisiveness; with a bias for action.
- Willingness to travel and work on remote sites, with a current manual WA driver's license (or equivalent).
