We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city’s public transport network.The Building Projects Directorate is part of the Department's Infrastructure Delivery Division and works in partnership with Government agencies and industry in the delivery of social infrastructure (building construction) projects. This includes the provision of advisory and management services to assist all State government agencies manage the construction, replacement, refurbishment or demolition of buildings, office accommodation and government employee housing.The OpportunityWe are seeking to recruit multiple Construction Advisors to join our Professional & Advisory Services Team who will contribute to the provision of trades and construction advice across varying building specialities, including:
- Building and Architectural
- Civil and Structural
- HVAC Systems
- Trade qualification or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience working on commercial construction sites or relevant industry experience.
- Providing advice, information, training, and consultancy services to stakeholders from different backgrounds.
- Ensuring and advising on compliance with construction standards and safety regulations.
- Resolving complex issues with innovative and strategic solutions.
- Managing and evaluating programs, projects, and policy development processes.
- Demonstrating proficiency in resource management, budgeting, and contract oversight.
- Utilising analytical skills to evaluate information and provide expert advice.
- Communicating effectively through verbal and written channels.
- Understanding social, economic, and commercial considerations.
Prior to employment with the Department the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
- DHS Aged Care Sector Employment is required prior to employment with Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every three years before expiry.
Temporary appointment up to 2 years with an option of extension or conversion to be considered.Remuneration
