We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.About the roleThe Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) provides mental health assessments, case management, and clinical interventions for children and young people (0 -26 years), who present with mental health difficulties, and their families. The Senior Speech Pathologist will provide high quality clinical speech pathology communication assessment and consultation services for children and young people 0 - 26 years of age presenting with complex mental health challenges, trauma, and/or disabilities. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team that has access to ongoing professional development as well as regular clinical and professional supervision. We are a growing and dynamic team, who are dedicated to high quality care and supporting one another.About youTo be successful in this role you will possess:
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia including demonstrated evidence of professional development activities equivalent to Certified Practising Speech Pathologist requirements
  • A demonstrated capacity to inspire, influence, lead and motivate staff and to contribute to a positive and compassionate organisational culture.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical thinking and investigative skills involving research & quality improvement activities, benchmarking and resource identification, including innovative, service delivery models
  • Experience in assessment and delivery of assessment in one to one models for clients.
  • Demonstrated capacity to utilise a parent capacity building model
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, efficient work practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and applying current clinical knowledge
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, leadership and conflict management, in order to facilitate effective team functioning.
  • Demonstrated capacity to conduct supervision with students, and to provide coaching, mentoring or peer support
