With a commitment to ensure a safer and more responsible liquor and gambling environment for all Queenslanders, this is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the community, backed by an ethos of integrity, honesty and a spirit of collaborative progress.You will contribute to strategic guidance and regulation for Queensland’s liquor and gambling sectors, providing high-level, expert advice to the Executive Director and shaping the governance that underpins fair and responsible practices. Your leadership will support the OLGR strategic direction through the accomplishment of organisational goals while embracing opportunities for continual enhancement. You will be aware of current and future developments within liquor and gambling regulation, both domestically and globally, as you will advise government on the latest research, trends and innovations.As an operational strategist, you will ensure that activities align with legislative requirements and policy frameworks, maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability. A key part of your role is to cultivate and nurture strong networks, collaborating and negotiating with state and national bodies and key industry and community stakeholders on matters pivotal to liquor and gambling policy, reforms and initiatives. You will maintain productive working relationships with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders and lead a dedicated team, including key business area directors and support staff and will be part of a 200-strong team spread across nine regions.Your expertise will guide key decisions in statutory, policy and operational matters related to liquor and gambling, impacting both government and the community. You will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary regulatory approaches and possess a general knowledge of the public health dimensions associated with liquor and gambling harm prevention.
