94564525 | tasha.haran@dffh.vic.gov.auPosition DetailsTHE ROLEAs a Senior Practice Adviser, you will contribute to a range of operational activities surrounding the authorisation and approval of restrictive practices, systemic and individual clinical reviews of restrictive practices, and practice advice regarding restrictive practices for people with disabilities as defined in the Disability Act 2006.The Senior Practice Advisers have a key role in influencing practice development and contributing to systemic change that is focused on reducing and preventing the use of restrictive practices.You will provide expert practice advice and assist in a range of projects related to implementing the legislative requirements of the Disability Act 2006 and systemic and practice improvements that safeguard the rights of people with disabilities who have behaviours of concern.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
  • Provide practice advice and professional expertise to key internal and external stakeholders in areas of responsibility including a specific focus on existing and new organisations providing disability services under the NDIS.
  • Review behaviour support plans in line with the Disability Act and review for secondary approval by the Victorian Senior Practitioner.
  • Undertake systemic and individual clinical reviews of restrictive practices and quality evaluation of behaviour support plans for people with a disability as defined in the Disability Act.
