Shape the future of Australian-made lighting! We're looking for an exceptional Mechanical Engineer to innovate at our Wacol facility.
This role is a unique opportunity to drive the design and development of custom lighting solutions, from initial concept to final production. We are also open to considering exceptional recent graduates with a strong skill set and eagerness to learn. You'll be working hands-on, from Design through to advanced CNC machinery to bring your sheet-metal designs to life, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.Who will you be working with?
You will be joining a dedicated team at the company, collaborating closely with production staff, fabrication experts, and other engineers. This role will work closely with experienced Mechanical Engineers in a team environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing sheet-metal components and light fittings in steel and aluminium using PTC Creo.
- Creating detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for custom lighting solutions.
- Working with advanced CNC machinery to prototype and manufacture your designs.
- Developing jigs, fixtures, and tools to optimise fabrication and assembly processes.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring all designs comply with industry standards.
- Collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, with hands-on experience in sheet-metal fabrication highly regarded. Exceptional graduates with a strong skill set will also be considered.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, with experience in PTC Creo (preferred) or a similar platform like SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal processes, CNC machinery, and design-for-manufacture principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- A drive for innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
