- Manage the preparation and cooking of meals on site
- Produce well-presented nutritious meals using fresh ingredients where possible
- Assist in the menu development where practicable
- Adhere to the approved cycle menu on site
- Manage portion control and wastage on site
- Ensure all dietary requirements for residents are met
- Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques
- Comply with Food safety programme and procedures as outlined in the Hospitality manual
- Comply with any relevant legislation covering food safety
- Previous experience as a Cook catering for 50+ people
- Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent
- Ability to work cooperatively with kitchen staff to get food out on time
- Experience in ordering food stuffs, and awareness of waste management
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code
- A NDIS Worker’s Screening Check or willingness to get one
