
Security Architect - Canberra

- Understand and translate business requirements and processes into tailored security architecture solutions for Canberra-based organisations, including Federal Government agencies.
- Act as a trusted advisor, demonstrating expertise in enterprise security architecture and security operations, with strong knowledge across at least two security domains.
- Integrate security solutions with existing government or enterprise infrastructure, including the identification and integration of third-party products.
- Architect, deliver, and enhance Cisco security solutions, providing thought leadership and influencing customer outcomes.
- Lead delivery of security solutions independently and as part of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Contribute to national and global collaboration within Cisco's security practice, and work cross-functionally with other Cisco business units.
- Ensure delivery aligns with industry standards, methodologies, and government frameworks.
- Oversee and report on security service engagements, engaging with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Identify and support new business opportunities as Canberra organisations undertake digital transformation.
- Assist in developing proposals and statements of work, accurately scoping engagements.
- Support Cisco's Account Teams and Business Development Managers in growing our security services footprint in Canberra.
- Australian Citizenship (essential, due to Federal Government customer requirements)
- NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance (or the ability and willingness to obtain)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (preferred)
- Extensive technical expertise in security, with deep market and business understanding
- Demonstrated experience in Security Operations Centre (SOC) architecture, SOC platforms, and security/enrichment platforms
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools
- Ability to design and implement custom SOC use cases
- Strong knowledge of at least two additional security domains (e.g., OT, Network, Cloud Security, DevSecOps)
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, COBIT5, TOGAF, CISSP, SecOps, or relevant experience with containers, cloud, databases, or open source technologies
- 10+ years' experience in IT Security, Consulting, or Systems Integration, working with major enterprise or government clients
- Proven leadership in complex programs or projects
- Program/project management experience
- Ability to engage with senior business leaders as well as technology teams, with an understanding of public sector business drivers
