Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage a team of credit control professionals, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Produce accurate statements of outstanding debt for clients across the nation.
  • Generate and process manual credits and invoices as required, ensuring timelines and accuracy are met.
  • Take ownership of bad debt accounts, proactively minimising risks by following up on payments via email or phone.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation, processing receipts in the accounting system.
  • Conduct credit checks on new accounts, providing professional advice to engineers regarding clients with adverse credit histories.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow reporting for management review.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to address outstanding or problematic accounts, facilitating resolutions swiftly.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders such as lawyers and credit bureaus when escalating debt-related cases.
  • Review contracts and invoices, ensuring accurate entity details, payment terms, and compliance with company standards.
  • Lead monthly debtor meetings with the CFO and office managers to report on progress and performance.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
  • Extensive experience in credit control, preferably within a supervisory or team leader capacity.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce cash flow projections and financial reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively liaise with clients, engineers, and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
