As a Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, client-focused support for rostering and time and attendance processes within the Organisation. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of roster and payroll data while adhering to strict deadlines.Key accountabilities include:
  • Respond to enquiries regarding rostering, time and attendance systems, for e.g ServiceNow in a confidential, customer-focused manner.
  • Accurately document and track all enquiries and actions taken to resolve them.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Deployment Officers, Operational Managers, Corporate staff, and Unit Managers, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry and review of rosters for salary and wage processing.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance rostering and time and attendance practices.
  • Maintain data integrity and consistency across various rostering and attendance systems.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment aimed at delivering best practices and high-quality service to all NSW Government staff
About You
  • Proven experience with rostering and time and attendance systems (e.g., GovRoster, myShift, eTime, StaffLink, ServiceNow), and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong understanding of Acts, Regulations, Awards, and Agreements related to payroll and rostering, and the ability to apply these to determine staff pay outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-level customer service in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize information to identify issues and develop solutions.
