Location: GriffithAre you a talented Health Professional looking to make an impact in rural and regional communities?Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), are looking for a motivated and skilled Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) Case Worker Health Clinician. The MERIT Program provides case management for defendants who have entered the criminal justice system and have a demonstrable alcohol or other drug issue. The purpose of this position is to provide accurate assessments and written reports to the Courts and facilitate intensive case management of defendants throughout the bail period.To learn more about the Griffith Community Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Service clickAbout the role:The focus of this role is to provide high quality Alcohol and Other Drug clinical service to clients with issues related to their alcohol or drug use and legal issues (in Local Courts within MLHD) that have been referred to the MERIT program, to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for clients of the service.Identified outcomes are:
  • Provide counselling and support to clients and their families as identified in the client's case plan and in accordance with best practice and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Provide exceptional care through integrated and coordinated service models.
  • Provide advice to the Court in relation to the defendant's eligibility and suitability for admission to the MERIT program.
