
Physical Testing Laboratory Technicians

The position will require some weekend work as well as shift work (day, afternoon, night). If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you.The position requirements include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner
- Handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions & current best methods.
- Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.
- A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.
- Transfer validated results into the reporting system
- Calibration and maintenance of specialised equipment.
- A valid driver’s license
- A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting
- Competent within a strong safety culture
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems
- Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential
- Flexible and be able to perform shift work and weekend work as required
