CRD is a division of Crawford which offers Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Building Consultancy services to the insurance industry. To learn more about CRD, then please visit www.crawco.com.au/crd.As a Senior Forensic Engineer, you will be:
  • Inspecting and reporting on building related matters i.e., preparing causation reports on defects and damages to buildings and associated structures
  • Providing technical advice and detailed scope of works and cost estimates in accordance with Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia
  • Dealing with a variety of stakeholders at any given time, including Insureds, general public, builders and insurers
About YouThe role will suit candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Sound technical experience in Forensic Engineering (min 5+ years)
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • High motivation, responsibility, sound judgement and customer focus
  • Previous experience documenting and leading a diverse range of projects
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced consulting environment with competing demands
  • Strong commercial and business sense
Key Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably structural engineering)
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or National Engineering Register (NER) qualified
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer
  • A thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; preferably within the insurance industry
  • Experience working with legal firms and insurance companies (highly desirable)
  • Ability to scope and estimate cost of repairs to domestic, commercial and industrial properties
  • Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
