CRD is a division of Crawford which offers Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Building Consultancy services to the insurance industry. Inspecting and reporting on building related matters i.e., preparing causation reports on defects and damages to buildings and associated structures
Providing technical advice and detailed scope of works and cost estimates in accordance with Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia
Dealing with a variety of stakeholders at any given time, including Insureds, general public, builders and insurers

About YouThe role will suit candidates who can demonstrate:

Sound technical experience in Forensic Engineering (min 5+ years)
Excellent technical report writing skills
Excellent client relationship and communication skills
High motivation, responsibility, sound judgement and customer focus
Previous experience documenting and leading a diverse range of projects
Ability to perform in a fast-paced consulting environment with competing demands
Strong commercial and business sense

Key Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably structural engineering)
Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or National Engineering Register (NER) qualified
At least 5 years' experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer
A thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
Experience working in a fast-paced environment; preferably within the insurance industry
Experience working with legal firms and insurance companies (highly desirable)
Ability to scope and estimate cost of repairs to domestic, commercial and industrial properties
Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
