SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEERThe Senior Quality Engineer will assist the Quality Manager in ensuring Quality Assurance and Quality Compliance on the nominated zone of works. In particular, the Senior Quality Engineer will assist in establishing, managing and maintaining quality systems and records including but not limited to lot identification and non-conformances. The Senior Quality Engineer will also participate in, and conduct internal audits and continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Complies with company policies and directives as amended from time to time.
  • Assist the Quality Manager to maintain the quality management system on the Project and ensure that the quality management system complies with the ISO 9001 requirements in the geographic area under your responsibility.
This include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Ensure site staff and key workforce members understand the Project's quality objectives and requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Project system & technical audit schedule and carry-out scheduled audit, draft audit reports and get it approved by the Quality Manager prior to uploading it to Project database. The audit program is to include, but not limited to,:
  • Compliance to Project policies and procedures and to project-specific procedures.
  • Compliance to method planning and implementation of the planning including application of checklists, material manufacturers' instructions, etc.
  • Application of ITPs including calibration control of measuring and testing equipment.
  • Integrity of conformance control.
  • Attend external audits as delegated by the Project Quality Manager
  • Follow up Audit outstanding Actions until closure.
  • Authorised to carry out system audits and raise NCRs and CARs
  • Assist in performing external audits on Suppliers and Subcontractors.
  • Verify the implementation of remedial and preventative action proposed in NCRs
  • Maintain registers of system documents including work lots, ITPs, NCRs, and IMTE.
  • Undertake quality inspections both onsite and in supplier and subcontractor worksites to ensure conformity either prior to delivery or on-site delivery
  • Verify product compliance by review of work lot records and closing them out upon compliance.
  • Implement and maintain quality system documents and records, and ensure all other records are managed effectively for the project through the document control software and the responsible Manager.
  • Assist in lot identification in accordance with project requirements; including both direct and sub-contract works, procured materials and services.
  • Participate in a program of continuous improvement, which is coordinated by the Project Quality Manager to address preventive action based on analysis of non-conformance reports.
  • Attend regular Quality meetings and construction meetings in your area of responsibility.
  • Prepare submission on the performance of the quality system for inclusion in the project monthly report as directed by the Project Quality Manager.
  • Participate, as required in Management reviews of the performance of the project quality management system.
  • Request stop work due to quality issues.
  • Review Construction Method Statements, ITPs and other construction documents to ensure compliance with the relevant Technical Specifications and Design Documentations.
  • Review remedial and corrective action proposed for non-conformances.
  • Follow-up non-conformances until closure.
  • Inspect and release of hold and witness points delegated to you by Project Quality Manager.
  • Prepare internal weekly quality reports.
  • Promote QA principles
Qualification and requirements:
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Tertiary Engineering or Construction Management Qualifications or related disciplines
White Card * Minimum 7 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role - preferred
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and Installation processes, methods and specifications.
  • Good understanding of Inspection process and Inspection record managements
  • Good understanding of Audit and Validation process
  • Good understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical system
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Strong Initiative and proactive nature
  • Key collaborative skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across different levels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word,
  • Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
