Drive a range of business improvement initiatives to modernise operations, enhance service delivery, and deliver better outcomes across this large Queensland Government Department.Key responsibilities
  • Lead supporting business improvement initiatives (process, system changes upgrades, new technology etc
  • Design, deliver, and maintain change management artefacts, including Change Management Plans, Communication Plans, Stakeholder Analysis, Change Registers, and readiness assessments.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practice change management, incorporating Human Centred Design, agile methodologies, and iteration management principles.
  • Build and maintain a strong Change Network, fostering productive relationships with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and teams.
  • Develop and deliver targeted communications, engagement activities, and training to support business readiness and successful change adoption.
  • Monitor change effectiveness through clear metrics, adjusting strategies to overcome challenges and ensure on-time delivery of initiatives.
  • Coach and support project teams in breaking down complex changes into manageable steps and delivering Minimal Viable Change while still achieving business value.
  • Lead initiatives to uplift organisational change capability through training, knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement as part of a broader team.
About you
We're looking for a proactive, collaborative leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll have:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading organisational change and communications for complex projects within a large organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Expertise in Human Centred Design, agile delivery, and change management frameworks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for driving innovation, capability building, and positive cultural change.
  • A strong interest in Business improvement projects is highly desirable
  • Experience or qualifications in areas, such as Change Management, Customer Experience, Human Centred Design, Communications, Training and Iteration Management also highly desirable
