Centacare is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Risk and Compliance Officer to join our Quality, Risk and Governance Unit (QRGU). This is a pivotal role where you’ll collaborate with operational teams across the organisation to strengthen risk and compliance practices and help embed our Quality, Risk and Governance Framework.What you will be doing:
  • Support service delivery teams by developing and reviewing policies and procedures that balance operational needs with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare for and support external audits and accreditation processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk, compliance, and obligations registers.
  • Assist in managing privacy and information release requests.
  • Contribute to governance initiatives that drive service excellence and client safety.
  • Provide mentoring and practical guidance to colleagues on risk and compliance matters.
What you will bring:
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance systems.
  • Confidence in providing advice and coaching to operational teams.
  • Exceptional organisational and analytical skills, with a detail-focused mindset.
  • Experience or knowledge of the community services sector—including disability, aged care, family services, or early education—will be highly regarded.
  • Degree in law, health, social science or related field (highly regarded).
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, Aged Care Quality Standards, and Human Services Quality Framework.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with clients, families, and guardians.
  • Committed to achieving positive outcomes for clients with diverse and complex needs.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to obtain a driver’s licence, Blue Card, NDIS Clearance, criminal history check, and work rights in Australia.
