We’re doing it with our customers and communities as Australia’s energy infrastructure partner, a role our unique experience and expertise positions us to play.APA Group have a Gas Fitting (Mechanical) Apprenticeship available for someone within our local communities surrounding Eagle Farm on a full-time permanent basis.Your apprenticeship will consist of 4 years of both onsite work experience and formal classroom training. You will be an integral part of the team, learning from our highly skilled tradespeople. This position will give you a nationally recognised trade qualification Certificate III in Gas Fitting (Apprenticeship).After completion, you will be a qualified technician in your trade.Your Apprenticeship reports to the Manager Field Services, you will play a key role in providing the safe and timely delivery of field activities in relation to gas escapes, disconnection and reconnection of Domestic and Commercial services, including regulators and metering equipment.APA will cover and provide all your:
  • TAFE fees
  • Tools and equipment
  • Expenses for work travel
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Clothing
As an APA Apprentice you will:
  • Respond to gas emergencies in a timely and effective manner to ensure safety.
  • Install, maintain, and repair gas metering equipment to ensure accurate measurement of gas usage.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to gas systems and metering equipment.
  • Comply with industry regulations and standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve the performance of gas systems and metering equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to advise on potential improvements.

  • Available to commence or continue your career with APA in January 2026

  • Able to listen carefully, follow directions in the interest of safety for yourself, the team, assets, and environment
  • Able to work in confined spaces / at heights
  • Licensed to drive a motor vehicle
