With it comes a deep responsibility to listen, to understand people's needs and aspirations, and to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.Job DescriptionAbout the roleAre you a relationship-builder with a passion for driving meaningful impact, and connecting purpose with generosity?Beyond Blue is seeking a Philanthropy Relationships Lead to shape and grow our major donor and philanthropic partnerships. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead major donor engagement, manage high-value relationships, and craft compelling applications to individuals, corporates and foundations.As a key contributor to our Fundraising and Development Strategy 2023-2028, you'll play a vital part in achieving ambitious targets and delivering meaningful support for mental health across Australia.In this pivotal role, you will:
  • Identify and engage prospective donors through research, qualification and a strategic acquisition lifecycle.
  • Develop tailored strategies for cultivating lasting relationships with major donors and philanthropic trusts.
  • Create compelling, donor-focused proposals that align with funding priorities and inspire financial support.
  • Manage donor communications and reporting, including solicitation, stewardship, recognition and internal collaboration.
  • Oversee donor events and representation, leading cultivation initiatives and attending key engagements.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and apply data insights to improve donor engagement and pipeline development.
  • Track and report performance across fundraising metrics, including bi-monthly updates to the Board.
  • Lead budget management and work planning, delivering results within defined timelines and financial targets.
  • Promote inclusive practices, aligning with Beyond Blue's RAP and engaging communities at greater risk.
  • Ensure ethical standards and compliance with internal policies for donation handling and relationship governance.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout youTo be successful you will hold:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing, business development, community engagement or communications.
  • Substantial experience in philanthropy, fundraising with a strong working knowledge of giving in Australia, including donor motivations and sector-specific trends.
  • Demonstrate the ability to story tell, pitch ideas, and engage audiences in various formats
  • Stakeholder engagement expertise, including needs assessment, service standards and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Demonstrate relationship management skills, building trusted partnerships with donors, trustees and internal teams.
  • Demonstrate grant writing capabilities, with a track record of securing high-value philanthropic support.
  • Financial and project management acumen, including budgeting, reporting, risk management and donor (CRM) data analysis.
