This position focuses on forensic investigations and structural assessments to determine the cause, extent, and remediation requirements of damage.
This role would suit an engineer with a strong understanding of structural engineering design, a willingness to travel, and who can produce highly accurate, code-compliant reports and clearly communicate findings.
These reports often form part of insurance claims and may be presented in legal proceedings, so the role requires both technical precision and the ability to explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences, including in a courtroom setting if required.Key responsibilities
- Conduct inspections in both metropolitan locations, and regional locations as required.
- Investigate and analyse failures across residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
- Prepare detailed written reports documenting the cause of distress or failure, the extent of loss, and recommended remediation measures including reports for litigation.
- Liaise with homeowners, insurers, builders, and other stakeholders.
- Assist design team where appropriate in providing technical expertise on complex projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ( RPEQ or CPEng preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ structural engineering experience with a strong background in remediation or forensics.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian building codes and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with insurance companies or legal teams.
- Valid Unrestricted Australian Drivers License.
