This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care aligned with national standards and regulatory frameworks. The DoN leads workforce development, quality improvement and compliance initiatives while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous learning.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of perioperative services across our Newstead and Sunnybank Day Procedure Centres
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, overseeing onboarding, training and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with NSQHS (2nd Edition), ISO 9001, AS 5369 and other relevant standards.
  • Oversee clinical risk management, incident reporting and accreditation readiness
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise patient care and service delivery
  • Manage stock, equipment, and consumables, including procurement and preventative maintenance
  • Promote a culture of safety, empathy, and excellence in care
  • Support workforce planning, rostering, and professional development initiatives
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and secure patient records
  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement
Key Criteria * Bachelor of Nursing or higher qualification, current registration with AHPRA, and legal capacity to work in Australia, with postgraduate qualifications, cannulation experience and current BLS/ALS certification highly regarded.
  • A minimum of five years' perioperative nursing experience (preferably within IVF or women's health), including qualifications and experience in anaesthetic nursing. At least two of these years must include experience in a clinical management or leadership role.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintain high standards of documentation, and support escalation pathways and performance feedback processes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead with professionalism, empathy and compassion, while actively supporting organisational policies and fostering a culture of safety, care and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to collaborative practice, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional development aligned with national standards and organisational values.
