Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYThe Combat Systems Engineer is part of the DDG Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team and will primarily contribute to the development of the Guided-missile Destroyer (DDG) requirements baseline and the successful delivery of updated DDG specifications in support of upgrades to the DDG Combat System (CS) under the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrade.Further responsibilities include contributing to architecture development and design coordination activities, as well as contributing to the development of the DDG CS Verification program.More specifically, you will be
  • Contribute to and execute Combat System (CS) Systems Engineering activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition and development of subsystems and associated components in preparation for integration, test and trials/evaluation.
  • Develop, maintain and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
  • Prepare for and support the execution of major program milestones such as design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews.
  • Develop, prosecute and support the implementation of approved Engineering Changes.
  • Interact with specialty engineering disciplines, including but not limited to: Safety; Human Factors; Cyber; Topside and ILS for the purposes of achieving design assurance and holistic system compliance
About YOU
  • Past exposure in the Integration, Test and Evaluation of CS Products into Naval Platforms or equivalent complex Military Systems having challenging constraints.
  • Substantial experience with Combat System requirements within a maritime context.
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools (DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine) and techniques.
  • Experience in the design and development of military systems, including utilisation of GFX and COTS components.
  • Substantial experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment (preferably within the defence industry).
  • Experience working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals.
  • Experience in development methodologies on complex modern systems using a documented process.
