- Effective working relationships with resident staff, nursing staff; medical oncology fellow(s), registrars and fellows of other medical units, consultants, and allied health staff.
- Readiness to take direction and willingness to learn from medical oncology consultants, supervisor of physician training, head of unit, other members of the team and other colleagues
- Effective working relationships with all staff involved in clinical trials
- Other healthcare providers, University and Professional Bodies
- Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
- Participating in Royal Australasian College of Physicians physician-training program.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines
1. Provides high quality patient care using an evidence based, cost effective approach
- Attendance to inpatients of the medical oncology unit and patients referred by other units.
- Attendance at selected Specialist Clinics and clinics in Day Therapy
- Attendance to unwell patients in Day Therapy
- Participates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncology
- Completes all patient related documentation according to the Centre's needs
- Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team
- Contributes to team meetings and educational activities
- Actively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activities
- Participates in departmental research projects and audits
- Responds to on call commitments within an appropriate timeframe
- Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
- Close liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology Unit
- Follows hospital policies and procedures
- Enters and manages patients on clinical trials
- Participates in clinical trial management (if appropriate)
- Participates in internal and external educational programs.
- Attend approved training courses in preparation college accreditation
- Attend weekly academic meetings as appropriate
- Maintain satisfactory clinical & academic performance, reviewed every six months
