- Develop, facilitate and enhance effective relationships with internal and external clients to support successful project delivery and future opportunities.
- Provide strategic thought leadership and planning to drive the development and growth of the ecology practice.
- Lead and implement complex ecological investigations for high-profile infrastructure projects, including baseline ecological surveys, pre-clearing surveys and targeted surveys for threatened species.
- Oversee and prepare technical reports and plans, while empowering a team of ecologists through supportive leadership, guidance, bid coordination and project management.
- 20+ years of ecological experience, ideally within consulting, with proven ability to manage and deliver complex ecological surveys and projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian environmental legislation and planning systems (e.g. EPBC Act, FFG Act, Planning and Environment Act).
- Skilled in technical leadership, with experience mentoring teams, with VQA accreditation and a detailed understanding of Habitat Hectare assessments (BAM accreditation a plus).
- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science or similar, plus a Class C open licence (4WD experience desirable).
- Expert witness experience highly desirable
