- You like to work as part of a team, under the direction of the Team Leader, in all aspects of general parks and gardens maintenance, including:
- Operation of ride-on mowers, edgers, blowers, and brush cutters.
- Operating of tractors for general activities, such as slashing and turf renovations.
- Weed management, including the application of herbicides and the removal of weeds manually.
- General litter collection, cleaning up and the blowing down of paved surfaces.
- Undertaking tree planting and street watering programs as directed.
- You like to undertake basic daily maintenance and safety inspections of mowing machinery used in the course of duty.
- You are friendly and will respond to customer enquiries (in the field) in a professional and courteous manner.
- Certificate II in Horticulture and/or qualifications in turf management or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Current White Card
- Previous experience in a parks and gardens environment
- General understanding of how to monitor and maintain an irrigation system
- Experience and knowledge in the safe handling and application of weed spraying chemicals
- Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices
- Current unrestricted C class driver’s licence
- Current unrestricted MR (Medium Rigid) class national driver’s licence (desirable)
