Senior Knowledge LawyerFixed Term Temporary - 12 Months | Brisbane CBDShape the Future of Legal Knowledge within this Qld Government DepartmentWorking in the in-house legal firm for the Queensland Government, we are offering a rare blend of meaningful legal work, professional growth, and a supportive workplace culture.We are seeking a Senior Knowledge Lawyer to join on a 12-month fixed term basis .This autonomous role is ideal for a qualified lawyer with a strong background in personal injury law, a passion for innovation, and a drive to improve legal practice through knowledge management. You'll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, IT specialists, and legal professionals to develop and implement a new Knowledge Management Strategy that enhances efficiency and consistency across the practice.Key Responsibilities
  • Review and update a suite of legal precedents.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to capture key knowledge throughout client engagements.
  • Maintain and manage internal knowledge repositories and databases.
  • Deliver training to legal staff on precedent use and knowledge systems.
  • Monitor legislative and industry developments to inform practice updates.
  • Manage standard form contracts, including Australian Standards Contracts.
About YouYou are:
  • A qualified lawyer with 6+ years' experience.
  • Solutions-focused and capable of driving initiatives.
  • Skilled in legal drafting, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience or willingness to learn systems like Visualfiles and SharePoint.
  • Familiar with legal research and business intelligence platforms.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.
